With this on the ballot, Colorado could soon be abortion free!!! I must admit that I have doubt that it will pass... Oh me of little faith. I need to work on my doubt, and give this to God. With Him all things are TRULY possible!!! I am very excited. This will be on the first ballot that I will ever get to vote on. And I get to be a small part of getting it passed.

Hey Miranda, I would appreciate any info on both the christian master herbalist program and the one you are curently taking.
Thank you!

Wow! I'm glad you think my ratties are cute. :)
Isn't it so neat how things work out? I got so excited when I saw that you were interested in herbal medicine.
Here is the school I am in: www.gcnm.com
It is a one year Master Herbalist course which includes the history of herbal medicine, plant identification and harvesting, making herbal remedies, healthy living, etc. It's a wonderful course. I will warn you that while the curriculum written by the school is awesome, a few of the supplemental books include some new agey ideas that are not so great. But you can wade through it pretty easily. :) The entire course is about $1,500, which I thought was very doable compared to a lot of other programs. And I can't say enough good about the staff at GCNM. It's distance learning, but they have been so helpful with all of my questions.
The other site that I came across is an herbalist course by a Christian herbalist named Jessie Hawkins. I have spoken to her through e-mail, and she is a very sweet lady. Here is her site: www.vintageremedies.com With her course you start with the Family Herbalist course and certificate, and then you move onto the Master Herbalist course. Her price is even better than GCNM's, and her curriculum is from a strong Christian perspective. You can't get much better than that!!!
I plan to take the Vintage Remedies course when I'm finished with my course, because they both seem to have different strengths as far as content goes. For instance, the Vintage course covers aromatherapy which I have learned very little about in my GCNM course, and it also seems to focus more on the motherhood aspect of Herbalism- which I'm very intersted in. :)
Anyway, please let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help. And please keep in touch!!! We'll probably, at some point, be studying herbs at the same time (if you decide for sure that you want to ) so we can throw ideas back and forth. ;)
Miranda, we should definately start a yahoo group. I could help with colors (I had a book club on there) and setting it up if you want. We could post pictures and updates and questions and stuff about our herbs. I have a blog were we (we being my sisters and I) sell doll clothes and stationery and I hope to sell herbal teas some day, and I could put a link to the group so we could get some people to come.
