Herbalist Yahoo Group

UPDATE: OK, ladies, while I'm very interested in being part of a group, I don't feel that I can give enough time to moderating it right now. But I will jump right into the group if someone else would like to start it. Just let me know!!!

Alright, Rebelution girls. :) There seems to be some interest in an herbalist yahoo group. I am already getting really excited about this!!!

So, I've never started one. But several of you have offered to help. I suppose I could start it up and then enlist the help of more experienced people? Does that sound OK? Also, any name ideas?

Here are some neat verses to start us out:

Gen 1:29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you."

Ps 103:1-3 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

Gen 1:12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

UPDATE: I'm headed to the Rebelution conference in a few minutes. After this weekend, things get crazy for me for about a week. When I get back from a trip, I plan to go ahead and start the group. So I hope it's not asking too much to wait. Thanks!!

I'm all for a christian herbalist yahoo group! although I have no idea how to do any of the technical stuff. =/

Hmmm I can't think of any names right now but I'll be praying for a good one. =)

This is one of my all time favorite Bible verses,
So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him. Luke 10:34

God Bless!

Hey
What is a herbalist? (sorry if that's a dumb question, but I'm not sure right now)

Hey, I'm prety good at technical stuff. Go to my blog (Homeschoolblogger.com/lionesslamb) and look at the template I designed. It's been a while since I did anything on Yahoo, (my book club broke up as we got older... long story short it didn't work.) so I don't remember the details, but I think I can do it.

Also, for name ideas, I was thinking somthing along the lines of "And HE saw it was good" or if anyone can find it, I was thinking that that in Hebrew would be neat, but I've looked and I can't find it or at least I don't know enough Hebrew to figure out where the part I want begins and ends, all I know is the Hebrew Alephbet (if thats how you spell it. It's said Alif-bait.).
Well thats all I've got for now, I'll let you know If I think of anything.

Hey, I was looking at the cattagorys on yahoo for groups, which one should our group be? The ones to pick from are:
Animals
Business & Finance
Computers & Internet
Culture & Community
Entertainment & Arts
Family & Home
Games
Government & Politics
Health & Wellness
Hobbies & Crafts
Music
Regional
Religion & Beliefs
Romance & Relationships
Schools & Education
Science
Sports & Recreation.

Now I think we can safely rule out:
Animals
Business & Finance
Computers & Internet
Culture & Community
Entertainment & Arts
Games
Government & Politics
Music
Regional
Romance & Relationships
Schools & Education
Science
Sports & Recreation.

So that leaves:
Family & Home
Health & Wellness
Hobbies & Crafts
Religion & Beliefs
Schools & Education
Science.

Health & Wellness seems closer than anything. Also I thought somthing like "Healing Balm" for a name.

Hey guys. My Daddy said we need an adult to be one of the Moderators, and no that doesn't mean he wants to do it. I just got of the phone with my Oma (grandmama), I asked her if she would like to help, I hope thats OK, she said she doesn't know much about herbs, but the other week mine were dieing, I called her and told me were to put what plants, the ones that are in the place she said to put them, are thriving. So I hope it's ok, cause she'd be a great person to help us. Oma really has a green thumb. :D

Meshaay: No! that is not a dumb question, actualy alot of people don't know what an herbalist is. According to Wikipedia an herbalist is a person whose life is dedicated to the economic or medicinal uses of plants, someone trained or skilled in the therapeutic use of medicinal plants or someone skilled in the harvesting and collection of medicinal plants. I hope that helps.

God bless!

I found "and HE saw it was good" in Greek but I have no idea how to pronounce it! και είδε αυτό ήταν καλός. =)

Kirstin,I know a little greek, but my Dad knows quite a bit, maybe he can pronounce it. I'm posting some updates of my herbs, on my blog.

I think και είδε αυτό ήταν καλός would be somthing like cai eyde autO Atan calOds, and I think you would pronounce it kahi eiede
aootO Atahn kahlOds. Sorry if this just confuses you more, like I said, I don't know much.

Hey, girls. Sorry it took me such a long time to respond. I'm on vacation and just now got online. Kirstin, feel free to put my blog on the side bar. : ) Andie, I haven't really thought of a name. You know, I'm almost thinking just like "Christian Herbalism" or something like that to make it obvious what it is. I'm not sure. lol. I'll be praying for you. Good luck in Mexico!
